The challenge of trading ethically and acting responsibly is a key priority for NEXT and LIPSY. The Code of Practice (COP) for directly contracted Suppliers is our programme of ethical trading standards and forms an integral part of our company.


The Code of Practice seeks to ensure the integrity of any product carrying our trademarks and the welfare of all workers involved. We are a committed member of the Ethical Trading Initiative and work with our Suppliers to help them understand and develop their businesses to be compliant with our requirements.


Our ethical trading programme priorities are to:

  1. Develop and improve workers’ conditions, including safety and human rights, within our supply chain
  2. Communicate and support the achievement of compliance to our ethical standards with Suppliers
  3. Support our Suppliers through partnership to achieve continuous improvement
  4. Implement sustainable programmes and initiatives with Suppliers to improve their capacity and ability to deliver ethical values
  5. Work in collaboration with others, to pursue solutions for some of the more complex and systemic problems within the global supply chain that we cannot resolve alone

We identify and engage with suppliers whose practices are consistent with our own Code of Practice.


Through our international in-house audit team, we work closely with our Suppliers: our Suppliers must therefore ensure and provide evidence that any factory used in our supply chain, conforms to the standards outlined in our Code of Practice.
